Dolores Fordyce (Emanuelson) - Class Of 1949

 

Emanuelson Dolores Patricia Emanuelson, age 83, a survivor of multiple cancers, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Preceded in death by her parents James and Loretta (Cruice) Fordyce. She is survived by her husband, James; children, James Jr. (Karen) Emanuelson, Tallahassee, FL., John Emanuelson, Hilliard, Karen (Jerry) Rinne, Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren, Sydney (Jordan) Ruedy, Maplewood, MN, Brandon Emanuelson, Mankato, MN, Corinne Rinne, Blue Springs, MO; brother, James (Lynn) Fordyce, Sheridan, MT; other relatives and friends. Dolores was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, and moved to Columbus in 1955 where she met the love of her life, Jim. They married in 1957 and raised three children as long-time residents of Upper Arlington. Dolores was very involved in her children's lives and shared her enthusiasm as a Cub Scout and Brownie leader. She loved to help others and will be remembered for selflessly donating thousands of hours preparing food for the homeless, knitting baby booties for single moms, and volunteering for the American Cancer Society and at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was also very active with the Sharon Rebekah Lodge. The family will welcome friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, January 25 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St., Worthington, OH, where a Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2015.
