Christopher E. Coovert, 50, of Amherst, died Monday (Nov. 6, 2000) after a brief illness.
Born in Buffalo, he graduated from Amherst Central High School, where he played on the golf team.
He was a student at Ohio University and graduated from Daeman College.
Coovert was vice president and general manager of Pellets Inc., a North Tonawanda company founded in 1948 that pioneered the development of abrasives known as cut wire shot.
He was an avid golfer an a member of the Crag Burn Golf Club.
