Heckmann, Edward C. - June 6, 2014 - Beloved husband of Barbara M. (nee Dirschedl) Heckmann. Loving father of Deborah M. Heckmann and MIchael E. (Melanie) Heckmann. Loving grandfather of Marissa and Lilliana Heckmann. Dear brother of Charlotte (Patrick) Lofft. Also survived by nieces and nephews. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church (Englewood Ave.) Wednesday at 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to 10 Lives Club or the Alzheimer's Association, WNY Chapter. Arrangements by the C. Mertz and Son Funeral Home, Inc.
Charlotte Heckmann (Lofft) (1960)
Ed Heckmann is my brother. He died very suddenly without any warning. It was a real shock. He had been actively engaged in caring for his wife who had Alzheimer's. He visited her every day and was a huge help to the staff at the Memory Care unit where she was a resident.
He was a wonderful person and a truly valuable member of the community.
