Kent G Korber - Class Of 1962

ALLIGERVILLE- Kent George Korber, 77, a long-time resident of Alligerville, N.Y., died peacefully at home on Feb. 19, 2021, after an extended illness. Kent served 30 years as a speech pathologist in the Kingston, N.Y., Elementary Schools. He was an avid golfer throughout his childhood, working life and retirement, always ready for a day on the course and some friendly competition. Kent especially enjoyed his time and friends at Rondout Golf Course, where he was a two-time club champion and where he recorded three holes-in-one. For many years, Kent frequented any and all estate and garage sales, always looking for that special bargain. He marketed and collected treasures at flea markets, on eBay, and at the popular annual barn sale he conducted at his home. Kent was born on Jan. 18, 1944 in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of George and Eugenie Korber. After spending his childhood in nearby Eggertsville, N.Y., Kent received his Bachelors degree from Westminster (PA) College and his Masters degree at Central Michigan University. Kent is survived by his beloved partner and dear friend, Wendy Henderson, who was more than his match on the garage-sale circuit. He is also survived by his sister, Marlis Korber of Seattle Washington and her partner, Harriet Burger; by his brother, Mark Korber of Wethersfield, Conn. and his wife Carolyn Korber; and by his niece and nephews, Madeline Korber, Eric Korber, and John Korber (Amy). Cremation arrangements are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston. www.jvleahyfh.com The family is grateful to Hudson Valley Hospice for their warm and thoughtful care during Kent's last months.
