Fletcher, Joanne Leslie [Midlothian, VA] age 73 passed away peacefully on 4.2.24 at her home surrounded by family and friends.  Jo was born on 9.18.50. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alice Harries Fletcher and Richard Spence Fletcher of Buffalo, NY and Jupiter, FL. Survived by her brother, David Fletcher, his wife Wanda and two nieces, Emily Delahunty and Rachel McKinley.

Jo was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. She attended nursing school in Toronto, Ontario. She received her BS and M. Ed from the University of Minnesota and her Ed.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. Her nurse anesthesia education was at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She worked as a clinical nurse anesthetist and educator for over 35 years in Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Following graduate school, she became an advocate for human error in medicine training using fully realistic human body simulators.

Shortly after the millennium, she began her education in Reiki and opened a private practice in Midlothian, VA. In 2013 she founded the Paths to Wellness Center with 2 partners where she practiced and taught Reiki until 2020. Always an animal lover, she also spent time doing animal Reiki at shelters, in private homes and at a canine aquatic rehab center. She was a member of James River Weavers Guild and sold her hand-woven shawls and scarves locally. Always up for a new adventure, she enjoyed traveling throughout her life. Jo dedicated her life to healing body, mind & spirit in animals, people and herself.

The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Hospice of Virginia for your professional and unwavering support. In lieu of flowers, Jo has requested donations to the ASPCA. A Celebration of Life will be held on 4.18.24 at 5 PM at Woody's Huguenot Chapel.
