BALL RICHARD JAMES BALL, JR. (Age 52) Suddenly on March 15, 2008 of Herndon, VA, after a short illness. He was born on September 24, 1955 in Buffalo, NY. Richard graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1977 and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed as a mechanical engineer by the Naval Sea Systems Command&#8216 ;s Division of Naval Reactors for over 30 years. In recent years, he coached several Chantilly Youth Association teams and was an avid soccer player and fan. Richard was the beloved husband of 21 years of Rita Ball, loving and devoted father of Stephanie Ball and Brendan Ball, both of Herndon, VA, son of Richard J. Ball, Sr. and the late Margaret Ball, brother of Thomas Ball. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 17 from 6 to 9pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Veronica‘s Catholic Church, 3460 Centreville Road, Chantilly, VA 20151. Interment will immediately follow at Fairfax Memorial Park, Fairfax, VA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your  choice.
