Thomas A Dabrowski - Class Of 1974

Thomas Arthur Dabrowski, January 11th 2023:

Tom has gone on to undoubtedly join his son Ken in eternal peace. On July 27th, 1956 in Buffalo, NY, Tom was born to Rita Loretta and Bronislaus Dabrowski. God knew Toms personality of caring and sharing right off the go as he shared the womb with his “chin” or twin brother as he used to say. Rob and Tom immediately joined the ranks as a Dabrowski boy with his older brothers Paul and Don. Their childhood was one of pranks, mischief, and going to church. Often times the Dabrowski boys would find themselves in trouble again from giggling in the pews of church or making prank calls from their mom’s phone “is your refrigerator running” while the giggles would continue, you’d hear one of them say “you better catch it”. As Tom grew older, he developed a love for restoring corvettes, music, collecting guitars and fine carpentry. Tom worked in his early days as a merchandiser building the most fabulous displays, every time going above and beyond what was expected. Tom always knew how to have a good time while also working hard. This was how he was able to have so many friends and it was through these friends that he met his wife and soulmate Wendy. On a blind date overcome with exhaust fumes and the loud music from the 1970 Charger RT, Wendy decided that maybe she’d give this guy with charm, a great sense of humor and mildly good looks a try. Their marriage led to the birth of their 3 sons and a lifetime of fun being married for 42 years. Tom quickly fit in with Wendy’s family the Mungalls as well, enjoying many years of having fun on the lake with his in laws. Tom and Wendy were always up for adventure. Travels to California, Puerto Rico, Bahamas and all across the USA. Often times finding some of the best travels together right in their home town, shell hunting, kayaking, and riding bikes to the next unexplored trail. With Tom everyday could be an adventure making even the most mundane things into memorable experiences. Tom became a grandfather to 4 boys, who will still be looking for trucks in their ears every April Fool’s Day. He loved being a grandfather and taking his grandsons to Disney World regularly. When at Disney he would make sure the boys knew that he knew and was friends with everyone that worked at the park including his personal friendship with the one and only Mickey Mouse. While the boys were at Disney, they were elite alongside their grandpa, quite possibly the coolest guy in the world. He would also regularly attend the grandsons’ sporting events where he could be heard over the crowd yelling “LETS GET HOT, DOGS” to the embarrassment of his sons and grandsons. Tom became a successful business owner of his own remodeling firm. His reputation and craftsmanship spread around town and within no time was busier than he could keep up with. He would often times hire his sons and their friends to give him a hand in trying to keep up with his perfectionism, expecting them to have the ability to predict which tool he would need next. The saying “wipe down and clean the tools before you put them away!” “Shine the light on the problem not in my eyes!” will most certainly ring through his helper’s heads as they think of him. Tom always enjoyed his time with his coworkers always seeing them as friends and family, having many lifelong relationships from his profession. Tom was also a dedicated servant to God working at St. Cloud Presbyterian Church. Rain or shine, nothing would detour Tom from getting the job done and making sure the church was in impeccable condition for the next service. Even the church wasn’t off the radar for pranks, often times the Second Chance Thrift Shop would receive calls from an unknown caller with a disguised voice saying he was an inspector or pest control or if they had Prince Albert in a can and they most certainly better let him out. We would like to thank Tom for sharing his life with us as it was our treat to know such a man. We know he has found Kenny and has said to him “Dads here too, you Know”. Tom is survived by his loving family; Wife Wendy M. Dabrowski; Sons Erik T. (Jennifer) Dabrowski of St. Cloud, FL, Andrew J. (Lindsay) Dabrowski of Laguna Niguel, CA; Grandsons Jake, Nathan, Lukas and Banks. Tom will be missed by his many relatives, friends and colleagues.
