How could you not enjoy Monty? As my teacher at Niagara U, then a colleague on field trips at Amherst Middle, or running into him at Tim Horton's after his retirement he always had a fun story, a quick wit and a booming laugh - all unforgettable. Sincere sympathy to his family and colleagues, he is a legend who will be missed.

I worked with "Monty" at Amherst. Every day it was a pleasure to be in his company. We shared many professional experiences and we always found time to laugh. I will truly miss him.

What a great man and great teacher. I had him in 4th grade at Smallwood. Ironically I was just thinking of him and Karl Wicker on Sunday and then saw Sundays paper. Deepest Sympathies,

I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Whiting many years ago while attending Canisius College. I was a grad assistant for the Dean of Education and we became fast friends.
It has been many years, but I would think of "Monty" often. I remember a wonderful, kind, very funny and passionate human being. God bless you, Monty, and may you Rest In Peace. You were a special teacher, one who inspired many people in the field.

Christine, Rita and I offer our heartfelt
condolences to you and your family. I have fond memories when we shared a room at AJH. Monty was an inspiration, and taught me what true teaching is. He
referred to me as "little fella," and I reciprocated with "big guy." His booming
laugh always cheered me up!

I remember Monty with fondness. Bill Kearney and I had many a memorable band trip with him as a chaparone. Monty had a wonderful sense of humor.
I am truly sorry for your loss.
