Age 71, of Pendleton, NY passed away on May 4, 2025. He attended Amherst Central High School and graduated from Houghton College before attending the National University of Health Sciences where he obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1981. He taught at the university for 8 years. In 1991, he opened East Buffalo Chiropractic where he taught the University of Buffalo medical students imaging and provided them publishing opportunities as Dr. Gerow was an editor for Medpix, an online imaging journal. He became Curriculum Consultant for D’Youville College Chiropractic program in 2000 and became director of the program in 2004. Under his guidance, the program achieved accreditation status. In addition to various chiropractic association memberships, he was past president of the NYSCA District 17 and was a long-standing member of the Christian Medical Dental Association. He was a diplomat of both the American Board of Disability Analysts and the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists. Dr. Gerow provided chiropractic services to the under-served in the Buffalo area and was dedicated to this calling. During his younger years, Dr. Gerow excelled in sports. He was United States HS Single Sculling (Rowing) Champion in 1972. He was proud of the fact that he broke three oars during his racing career and displayed one in his home. While attending Houghton College, he broke their shotput record. He was an avid weightlifter and exercise enthusiast. He was a wonderful son, brother, and friend. He will be missed by many whose lives he touched over the years. He is survived by his loving family, his beloved former wife, Diane Gerow; sisters, Renee (Larry Hayes) Gerow, Dana Gerow, and Denise (Tom) Barrett; nieces and nephews, Jordan, Noah, Anluan, Bert, Falcon, Sequoia Gerow, Megan Mills, as well as Allison and Wyatt Barrett. He is predeceased by his parents, Dr. Richard and Helene Gerow. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-7 PM at the (Tonawanda Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 2600 Sheridan Dr. (at Parker Blvd), where services will be held 11:00 AM Monday.
