Age 91, beloved husband of the late Carol Mae (nee Brown) Savarino; devoted father of Samuel (Anne), Peter (Carmella), Robert Savarino and Bethann (Brian) Greaves; loving grandfather of eight grandchildren; dear brother of Marilyn (late Michael) Giancarlo, Donna (Joseph) Santoro and the late Rosalie (Frank) Ciminelli and Bernadine Savarino; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Savarino was born in Buffalo, attended Kensington High School and graduated from Amherst High School as well as the University of Buffalo. Known to family and friends as "Sonny", Mr. Savarino was a leader in the local construction industry. His firm ADF Construction Corp. completed many notable projects throughout Western New York. He was a supporter of many local organizations and charities including the Sisters of Mercy and Trocaire College where the library is named for his mother Rachel Savarino. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 6th, from 3-7 PM at the (Amherst Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5200 Sheridan Drive (at Hopkins Rd), where prayers will be offered on Wednesday, January 7th, at 9:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 AM from St. Gregory the Great Church. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted in the name of Sonny Savarino at Hospice Buffalo Inc, or Bristol Village.
