Edward F Stillwell - Class Of 1953

Obituary

Edward F. Stillwell, retired New York State Trooper and Buffalo Bills executive, died suddenly Sunday in his home in Fort Myers, Florida.

A native of Buffalo, Stillwell was born in the First Ward to Mary Margaret Theresa Clancy.

After graduating from Amherst High School he spent three years in the United States Marine Corps. He became a trooper with the New York State Police for 20 years, ending his career as an Investigator with the Bureau of Criminal Investigations. He graduated from Buffalo State College, cum laude, while working as a Trooper.

Ed Stillwell worked in the private sector as a National Account Executive for Prolon and Service Systems Corporation before moving on to become Director of Administration for the Buffalo Bills. Stillwell then relocated to South Carolina to continue his career with the National Football League with the Carolina Panthers. 

Stillwell and his wife Elizabeth have since retired to Fort Myers, Florida. Stillwell enjoyed summering in Buffalo and enjoying his five grandchildren: Phillip, Patrick, and Kelsey Stasiak, Samuel Cilano and Chloe Stoeckl. 

Surviving are his wife Elizabeth; sister Gail Schlau (Jack); daughter Susan (Jim Boyack); daughter Sandra Stasiak (Paul); son Michael Stillwell; and daughter Sara Stoeckl (Andrew). 

Services will be held Friday, February 1, 2008 at Dietrich Funeral Home, 2480 Kensington Avenue from 2:00 pm 4:00 pm and 7:00 9:00 pm. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 10:30 am St. Joseph University Church, 3269 Main Street, Buffalo, NY.
