Dwight Herman - Class Of 1968

Obituary of Dwight E. Herman

Dwight E. Herman

Dwight Herman, 69, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on September 27, 2019, in Buffalo,
New York. Dwight was born in Buffalo on June 1, 1950, to Harold and Maria Herman. He attended Amherst
Central High School and graduated in 1968. Dwight was a veteran of the United States Army
Reserve. He enjoyed a successful career in the food and beverage industry, working in sales at
Will Poultry Co. and restaurant management at Four Seasons. Dwight was known for his
friendly service and attention to details. He had a knack for remembering the orders of his
regular customers and he treated new customers like old friends. A longtime Buffalo resident,
Dwight retired to Florida in 2013.
Dwight was a loving father, a devoted son and brother, and a lifelong Buffalo sports fan. In
every season, Dwight was a loyal supporter of his hometown teams. Over the years, he enjoyed
rooting for the Buffalo Braves and the Buffalo Sabres at Memorial Auditorium. He was an avid
Buffalo Bills fan, from the early days at War Memorial Stadium to the present. For many years,
he was a proud season-ticket holder as well as a Blue Coat team ambassador. He spent a
recent happy afternoon at New Era Field, cheering the Bills on to a win in the company of family
and dear friends.
Dwight was beloved for his kind heart and quick smile. He was happiest when sharing a meal
with family and friends, and especially loved local Buffalo dishes, such as beef on weck and
chicken wings.
Dwight is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Maria Herman; twin brother, Doug
Herman; and sister, Carol Edwards. He is survived by his fiancée, Laurette Venski; son, Mark
Herman; daughter-in-law, Sara; brother, Jeffery Herman; and sister-in-law, Deborah Herman.
