HOWARD- Sharon (nee Hess) Age 61, April 16, 2010, in Sherman Oaks, CA, wife of Joe Howard; mother of Jeremy P Howard and Julia Howard Woodward, both of Sherman Oaks; daughter of Nancy (Payson) Hess of Williamsville, NY and Gordon H Hess of Ft Myers, FL; sister of Linda Fox (Alfred) Flessel of Niagara Falls, NY, Gary P(Joan) Hess of Atlanta, GA and Richard H (Monica) Hess of Chicago, IL. Mrs Howard was a graduate of Amherst Central HS and received a degree in Theater Arts from Ashland College in Ashland, OH. She appeared in many dinner theater presentations as well as Off Broadway shows in NYC before moving to California in 1978, where she and her husband continued successful careers in both film and commercial fields. She also taught theater and directed plays and other presentations at the Marlboro School in Los Angeles. In 2002 she received her Masters degree in Theater Arts from the University of Southern California. She was a dedicated volunteer with Operation Gratitude, sending care packages to service men and women deployed overseas. Private services were held in California.
