Roger Minthorn - Class Of 1967

 

ESCANABA - Roger E. Minthorn, 64, of 323 S. 12th. St., Escanaba, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba. He was born July 20, 1948, in Ypsilanti, Mich. and was the son of Russell and Mignon Minthorn.

Roger graduated from high school and then served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Roger was employed as a butcher all of his working life and most recently work at Elmer's County Market in the meat department until his retirement in 1999.

He married the former Janice Brundle on Sept. 14, 1991.

He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Escanaba Eagle's Club, the American Legion and he enjoyed fishing and shooting pool.

Roger E. Minthorn is survived by his wife, Janice; son, Eric Minthorn of Escanaba; daughters, Tara Minthorn of Escanaba, Beth Minthorn of Buffalo, N.Y., Nancy Minthorn of Buffalo, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sisters, Janet Elaine of Pontiac, Mich.; Lynn Anne (Victor) Reid of Amherst, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Frank.
