Evan M Glover - Class Of 1959

Services for Evan M. Glover, 50, of East Aurora, a rehabilitation counselor with the state Education Department for 24 years, will be held at noon Monday in the Lancaster-Depew Chapel of the Amigone Funeral Home, 6050 Transit Road, Depew.

Glover died Thursday (Sept. 19, 1991) of injuries he suffered in a car-truck collision on the Thruway near Rochester, while on his way to Albany for a work-related conference.

Born in Lacrosse, Wis., he came to Buffalo as a young boy and graduated from Amherst Central High School and the University at Buffalo, where he received a master's degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling in 1967.

Glover, a certified insurance rehabilitation specialist and an expert in vocational education, was credited with returning several hundred disabled people to gainful employment in his years with the Education Department's unit for vocational and educational services for individuals with disabilities.

He also was involved in the Education Department's project at Attica Correctional Facility and Workman's Compensation and Social Security programs.

In addition, he was a union representative for the Professional Employees Federation and a member of the Labor Management Council

He also was a member of the Blasdell Area Runners and had participated in 5K races. He ran in last Sunday's 20K Run for Your Life. He was a former member of the Over 35 Softball League of East Aurora.

Surviving are his wife of 11 years, the former Nancy J. Doster; two sons, Sean of Buffalo and Brian of Albuquerque; a daughter, Rachael of Albuquerque; a step-daughter, Amy Sanderson of East Aurora; his parents, Wilbur and Thelma Glover of Hendersonville, N.C.; a sister, Deborah Gentry of Richmond, Va., and one grandson.
