Daniel Edward Paterson - Class Of 1961

On Wednesday, November 21, 2018, Lt. Col. Daniel Edward Paterson, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at age 75.
Daniel was born August 28, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA to Daniel and Helen Paterson. He received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the State University of Buffalo in 1966. He was commissioned into the US Air Force at graduation as a First Lieutenant and moved to Rapid City, SD. In 1968 he married Marla Peterson in Corfu, NY. They raised two sons, Daniel and Andrew, and two daughters, Catherine and Christine.  Daniel received a Master’s degree in Facility Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1977. After 22 years as a career officer, Daniel retired in 1988 and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado with his family, where he worked for and retired from Lockheed Martin. Daniel enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, hunting and dancing, especially with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel, and his mother, Helen. He is survived by his wife, Marla, his four children, Daniel, Andrew, Catherine and Christine, his sisters Miriam and Cynthianne, eight grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 29th, 2018 at Sunrise United Methodist Church, 2655 Briargate Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80920 at 11AM with a viewing at 10AM. Family and friends may call Sunday, December 2nd from 1 to 2 p.m. at the C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc., 4 E. Main Street, Corfu, NY. Graveside services will follow in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Corfu, NY. Donations in his name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
