Alvin L. Kraatz, 70 years old, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014. Born in Buffalo, NY on July 24, 1943, Alvin was a graduate of Amherst High School, Amherst, NY; Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, Ohio; Colgate Rochester Divinity School with a Masters of Divinity and studied the organ under Marion Craighead of the Eastman School of Music. He was the pastor at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, East Aurora, NY; Harris Hill UMC Orchard Park UMC, NY and retired to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida in 1994 where he served as the music director/organist at Nativity Lutheran Church until May 2011. 

Alvin enjoyed bridge, cooking, travel, pets, and music. He also served as a hospice volunteer chaplain. His love of and commitment to family were of primary importance throughout his life. He was predeceased by his parents, Alvin L. Kraatz and Kathryn Laube Kraatz.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Nativity Lutheran Church, 4075 Holly Drive, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida 33410. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Peggy Adams Foundation.
