Bill left us far too soon on January 16, 2015 at age 64. Living his legacy are his wife and soul-mate, Joyce Strazzabosco; children and their spouses, Brian & Denille Reigelman, Lori & Misael Teron, and Bonnie & Andrew Smith; grandchildren, Owen and Allison Reigelman, Brayden Teron, Grace and Jane Smith; sisters, Sandy (David) Wolkenberg and Sue (Bob) Preller; brothers, Tom (Sandi Landrich), Charles, John (Kathy), and Frank (Drue); brother- and sister-in-law, John and Jeanne Strazzabosco; nieces and nephews; many friends; and beloved canine companions, Alex and Benji; cats, Camille and Lucy; and Larry the Rooster.
Bill was known for his thorough, exacting, and caring work as a social worker at Newark Hospital psych unit, Monroe County Socio-Legal Center, and the John L. Norris Addiction Treatment Center. He could get any job done faster and seemingly easier than anyone. He loved childhood summers in Long Beach, Canada, growing flowers and vegetables, fishing, baking, learning about all manner of things, living in a place he called Paradise, making people laugh, his family, and ketchup. A friend of Bill W. for 31 years, he gave the best back scratches, he made the best maple syrup, bread and butter pickles, and the best-worst puns. Loyal son and brother, loving husband and father, playful grandpa, faithful friend. He will live in our hearts forever.
Friends may call Friday, Jan. 23, 4-7 PM at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Ave.), followed by a Memorial Service on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 2 PM. Friends are invited to bring a written memory or photo for the family's Memory Book. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Gilda's Club Rochester, 255 Alexander St., Rochester, NY 14607, or a charity of your choice.
